Nripsuta Ani Saxena

I am a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at the University of Southern California where I am advised by the wonderful Professor Cyrus Shahabi. My research is broadly situated at the interface between computer science, sociology, and psychology. Algorithmic fairness, ethical ML systems, and humans' interactions with them are particularly interesting to me. For the summer and fall of 2023 I was on leave from USC to visit Goran Radanović at the Max Planck Institute for Software Systems.

During my time at USC, I received the Jenny Wang Excellence in Teaching Award for the Computer Science department in 2023, given to 1 of ~340 departmental TAs each year. In 2022, I received the 1st prize and the People's Choice in Viterbi's 3MT competition. In 2021, I received the VGSA Leadership and Service Ph.D. Award for Advocacy in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. My CV is available here. A list of published works can be found on my Google Scholar profile

Before joining USC, I received my M.E. at Harvard University in 2016, where I was lucky to be advised by Professor David C. Parkes.
